Manage Responses

About Managing Responses

This article breaks down the multiple ways you can manage responses. You can edit, delete, remind, and invite respondents, as well as update their background variables.

If you need to work with a particular response or a subset of responses, check out how to filter your responses.

Edit Responses

Enalyzer allows you to edit your respondents' background information. The most common use is to fix a wrong email address. All you have to do is:

  1. Go to your survey, and select responses in the side menu (if the side menu is not open click the menu icon () to open it first).
  2. Find the response you want to edit and click on it.

  3. Under background information, you can edit the variables you need to. Your changes will be saved immediately.
  4. Click the close window icon () to go back to the survey's responses.

Delete Responses

You can delete responses at any given point, all you have to do is:

  1. Go to your survey, and select responses in the side menu (if the side menu is not open click the menu icon () to open it first).
  2. Click on the actions menu and select delete.
  3. Select the respondents you want to delete, and click delete.
  4. Your respondents will be deleted immediately.

Deleting incomplete or not answered responses collected via email or Digital Post means that the respondents will no longer have access to answer or finish answering the survey.

Deleting completed responses deletes the data permanently and this action cannot be undone.

Reset Responses

The reset option allows you to delete all answers from specific respondents. Resetting can be used if a person has answered the survey incorrectly and wants to answer the survey again.

All you have to do is:

  1. Go to your survey, and select responses in the side menu (if the side menu is not open click the menu icon () to open it first).
  2. Click on the actions menu and select reset.
  3. Select the respondents you want to reset and click reset
  4. Enter the number of respondents being reset and click okay
  5. The selected respondents' will be reset immediately.

Update Background Variables

There are multiple reasons why you would need to update background variables. You might've forgotten to upload them when inviting respondents or something has changed or there was an error.

With Enalyzer, you can easily update your respondent's background variables. All you need to do is set up a CSV file with your Respondent IDs and the variable information that you would like to update.

STEP 1: DOWNLOAD RESPONDENT IDs

Respondent IDs are automatically generated by Enalyzer when a respondent is created. To find the respondent IDs, you have to download your response data download. All you have to do is:

  1. Go to your survey, and select responses in the side menu (if the side menu is not open click the menu icon () to open it first).
  2. Click on the options menu, select download, and CSV.
  3. Remember to include background variables in the download and click the download button.
  4. Open the CSV file and set it up by deleting everything but the respondent IDs and adding the background variable(s) you need to update.
  5. Remember to save your changes.

STEP 2: UPLOAD THE CSV FILE

Once your file is done, you are ready to upload it to Enalyzer. All you have to do is:

  1. Go back to the response page of your survey.
  2. Click on the options menu and select update background variables.
  3. Drag & drop or click to upload your CSV file.
  4. Map the fields by linking the fields from your CSV on the left to your survey variables on the right, i.e. map respondent ID to respondent ID and variable to variable.
  5. When you're done click next.
  6. You'll be given an overview of the responses that will be updated and if everything looks good, you can click done to import and update.
  7. Your background variable(s) have been updated.

You can update up to 10.000 responses at a time
