About Email Service Providers
An Email Service Provider (ESP) is a service organization that provides transactional and/or marketing email services. Most ESPs include features that allow customers to:
- Upload and maintain subscriber lists
- Schedule and send marketing campaigns
- Manage transactional email
- Improve email deliverability
- Monitor statistics of your email campaigns
An ESP may provide email services via a user interface (UI), or may also be an SMTP provider.
With Enalyzer, you can use two default ESPs: SendGrid (US-based) and Mailjet (EU-based). If none of these appeal to you or meet your needs, you can add a custom provider. For more information on hosting the ESPs please visit Enalyzers Data Processing Agreement Appendix 5.
Finally, you can change the ESP for personal accounts and entire organizations.

All your emails are now going to be sent using the specified provider.

Custom Email Provider
With Enalyzer, you can use your own email provider to handle all Enalyzer emails. You can specify a custom email provider for your personal account and organization. To set this up, all you have to do is specify the SMTP host you'll use when sending emails.
SMTP moves your email on and across networks so your communication ends up in the right computer and email inbox. This all takes place behind the scenes, and we don’t need to understand or operate SMTP.
Whether you want to use a custom email provider for your organization/personal account when you set it up, you have to:
- Select custom email provider
- Specify the following information:
- Server URL
- Server port
- The "From" address you'll use
- Username & Password
- Click on the test connection button
- You'll receive a test email if the test was successful.
Outlook, Gmail, and similar providers do not support "bulk" email send-outs and are therefore not supported. Only servers with SMTP access can be used.
When you use a custom email provider, Enalyzer will not log bounced emails to respondents.
List of Emails
The emails sent using the specified ESP are:
- Email invitations: manual & automations
- Email reminders: manual & scheduled
- Response receipts
- Organization invitations
- Workspace invitations
- Category notifications
- System notifications
Whitelisting ESPs
If none of these appeal to you or meet your needs, you can add a custom provider. For more information on hosting the ESPs please visit Enalyzers Data Processing Agreement Appendix 5.
If you're using one of our two default email service providers (ESP): SendGrid (US-based) and Mailjet (EU-based), your IT department can whitelist them to ensure the delivery of invitations and reminder emails sent from Enalyzer to your organization.
Whitelist our email domains:
- mail.enalyzer.com
- essmail.enalyzer.com
As a secondary option, you can whitelist the hostname sendgrid.net (if using SendGrid) or mailjet.com (if using Mailjet). There is no need to whitelist specific IP ranges since these can change.
If you've opted for a custom email provider, you should whitelist it instead of ours.
