About Website Surveys
A website survey is, as the name suggests, a survey on your website, blog, online store, etc. Its purpose is to collect website feedback from your users, readers, customer, and subscribers. Website surveys are perfect for collecting honest feedback from your target audience because they can find them when and where it’s relevant.
Website surveys are versatile since they take a multitude of forms, from pop-ups to embeds, and can be placed in different places on your site, depending on the pages you want to improve or need feedback on. Website surveys give you an excellent opportunity to learn why visitors visit your site, what they’d like to find, and assess their experience.
With Enalyzer, you can add your survey to your website as a standard embed, pop-up window, or button.
Standard Embed
A standard embed allows you to embed your surveys, quizzes, order forms, and more in a specific location on your web page.
- Go to your survey and select share in the side menu. If the menu is closed, click on the menu icon (
) to open it.
- Select website.
- Copy/paste the tag into your website’s HTML.
- Select standard embed.
- Define the size of your embedded survey window.
- Add a URL filter value if necessary. URL filter values allow you to control where you display your standard embed. For example, if you add the value "about", the standard embed will only appear on the pages where the value "about" is shown, such as https://example.com/about
- Click get code to retrieve the corresponding HTML code.
- Place this code in the right place in your website’s HTML.
- Once satisfied, activate the website collector.
Pop-up
The pop-up option allows for a message to pop up on your web page nudging website visitors to answer your survey.
- Go to your survey and select share in the side menu. If the menu is closed, click on the menu icon (
) to open it.
- Select website.
- Copy/paste the tag into your website’s HTML.
- Select pop-up.
- Enter text for a heading.
- Enter the text that accompanies your pop-up survey invitation.
- Set a delay in seconds (how long is a visitor on the website before they get the pop-up).
- Additionally, use the design options to make the pop-up blend into your website.
- Add a URL filter value if necessary. URL filter values allow you to control where you display your pop-up. For example, if you add the value "about", the standard embed will only appear on the pages where the value "about" is shown, such as https://example.com/about/
- Once satisfied, activate the website collector.
Pop-up surveys have the cookie "__enalyzer_es". The cookie is session-based per embed script, which means it'll work until the browser is closed.
Button
Add your survey as a button on the bottom right corner of your website. The button is equipped with different icons which allow versatility and freedom in terms of which survey you can use.
- Go to your survey and select share in the side menu. If the menu is closed, click on the menu icon (
) to open it.
- Select website.
- Copy/paste the tag into your website’s HTML.
- Select button.
- Enter text to show on the button.
- Additionally, use the design options to make the pop-up blend into your website.
- The button will show up in the bottom right corner of your website.
- Add a URL filter value if necessary. URL filter values allow you to control where you display your button. For example, if you add the value "about", the standard embed will only appear on the pages where the value "about" is shown, such as https://example.com/about
- Once satisfied, activate the website collector.
Multiple Active Website Collectors
With URL filter values you can have multiple website collectors active on several surveys at the same time. For example, you can have an order form, a contact form, and a website visitor satisfaction survey added to your website. The URL filter value setting ensures that you can organize and control where all of your surveys are displayed on your website.
The website collector tag is the same for all collectors in all surveys, which means that if you're using more than one collector per survey, or if you're sharing several surveys on your website, you need to use URL filter values to control the placement of your website collectors. This section outlines some case examples.
